September is a very popular month for weddings! So far we've catered 6 weddings and this month isn't over yet! Weddings are some of the most fun events to cater. While many wedding traditions endure, we're seeing more and more people creating events that better reflect their personalities and lifestyles. Being a part of this is a privilege and while we work hard to make sure our part in the wedding runs smoothly, we also have a lot of fun.
If you are planning a wedding right now, remember a few things:
1. Make it your wedding. Don't worry about what other people are doing or will think. This is your day and the next step in your life. You want your wedding to reflect you and your future spouse. If you want a wedding on a beach with finger foods instead of a sit down dinner, then do it!
2. Ask questions when you are searching for caterers, florists, photographers, etc. Make sure they can do what you want, that they are professional, and that they are people you feel you can work with.
3. Get the venue and the wedding dress first. Venues often have to be reserved a year in advance and for some reason, wedding dresses can take months to make. Get those two things out of the way and the everything else will fall into place.
4. Have fun and don't get overwhelmed. There are so many books, bridal fairs, and "experts" out there all saying you "must do ..." for your wedding to be a success. It can make your head spin. Make sure you have the basics — a site, the food, your wedding clothes — and remember that the important thing is you and your partner are starting a new phase of your lives together.
